Communion at Risen Savior
Holy communion is celebrated on the first and third Sundays of the month at all services.
We want you to commune with us!
In the Lord’s Supper, in, with, and under the bread and wine, we receive Christ’s body and blood for the forgiveness of sins and the strengthening of faith. This is the most important thing in the Sacrament.
You should also know, when you commune with a group of Christians, you are saying you agree with their teachings as a church.
If you believe what Christ says about His Supper and share the beliefs we have at Risen Savior, you are welcome to join us for Communion.
If not, please use the time during worship for prayer and reflection upon God’s Word.
We then invite you to speak with a pastor about how you, too, can share in this wonderful gift.
Other Helpful Hints
- Gluten-free wafers are available in the center of the wafer tray. Indicate that you want the gluten-free wafer, then take the wafer yourself to prevent cross-contamination.
- The center cups of each tray are grape juice for anyone who for personal or medical reasons should not drink wine.
- All are welcome to come forward and receive a blessing. Many families come forward with their small children!
- Anyone who has not completed Lutheran confirmation should fold their hands while at the communion rail.
Risen Savior Lutheran Church wants to assure all its members that God is with us (Emmanuel). We show God’s presence regularly by celebrating the Lord’s Supper. Some of our members are not able to come to the Lord’s Table, therefore we would like to bring the Lord’s Table to you. The Pastor and Elders are equipped as servants of the Word to bring worship, prayer and communion to you, upon request. Please click this link to sign up to receive home communion. May God’s abiding Grace and Peace be with you, now and always.
