Communion at Risen Savior
Holy Communion is celebrated on the first and third Sundays of the month at all services.
We want you to commune with us!
In the Lord’s Supper, in, with, and under the bread and wine, we receive Christ’s body and blood for the forgiveness of sins and the strengthening of faith. This is the most important thing in the Sacrament.
You should also know that when you commune with a congregation of Christians, you are saying you agree with their church’s teachings.
So, if you believe what Christ says about His Supper and share the beliefs we have at Risen Savior, you are welcome to join us for Communion.
But don’t worry; there is no pressure to take Communion just because it’s offered. Adults, as well as youngsters, are welcome to receive a blessing without communing; just indicate this by keeping your arms folded across your shoulders when you come forward, and allow the pastor to place a hand on your head or shoulder. Or you can simply remain in your seat and use the time for personal prayer and reflection on God’s Word.
We invite you to speak with a pastor about how you, too, can share in this wonderful gift.
Other Helpful Hints
- Gluten-free wafers are available in the center of the wafer tray. Indicate that you want the gluten-free wafer, then take the wafer yourself to prevent cross-contamination.
- The center cups of each tray are grape juice for anyone who for personal or medical reasons should not drink wine.
- All are welcome to come forward and receive a blessing. Many families come forward with their small children!
- If physical limitations make going forward difficult, please indicate this to one of the ushers so the Sacrament can be brought to you in your seat.
Home Visit
Risen Savior Lutheran Church wants to assure all its members that God is with us (Emmanuel). We show God’s presence regularly by celebrating the Lord’s Supper. Some of our members are not able to come to the Lord’s Table, therefore we would like to bring the Lord’s Table to you. The Pastor and Elders are equipped as servants of the Word to bring worship, prayer and Communion to you, upon request. Please click this link to sign up to receive home Communion. May God’s abiding grace and peace be with you, now and always.
