Standing at the Cross Lent Worship Series

As a Lenten lead-in to the 500th anniversary of the Reformation,
this special series will focus on portions of sermons
Martin Luther actually preached in the parishes where he served.

As we stand with Luther at the foot of the cross,
we contemplate the ways in which we stand firm in the faith
as followers of Christ during this holy season.

Holy Week

Palm Sunday, April 9     Standing in Humility

On Palm Sunday, Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey,
welcomed by crowds waving palm branches in celebration.
At the end of the week he would take his final steps to the cross.
We will follow him to stand at the crossas we learn humility from the example of our humble King.

11:30 a.m. Service
As we near the end of this Holy Week, we will gather to remember our Savior’s suffering and death.
In obedience to his Father’s will and out of his love for us, Jesus took his final steps to the cross.
There he took our sins onto himself and suffered and died so that we would be forgiven.
On Good Friday we will stand at the foot of the cross, remembering our Lord’s sacrifice.

Easter Sunday, April 16
Standing in Victory

8:00, 9:30 & 11:00 a.m.

All through Lent and into Holy Week, we followed Jesus on his path to the cross.
On Good Friday we stood at the foot of that cross to see before us the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.
On Easter morning we will stand at the empty tomb to praise our risen Lord. In him we have life and victory.
